Enterprise Ireland supported companies announced new deals with UAE partners at the recently concluded Dubai Airshow held in November, 2017. The latest agreement focuses on increasing exports from Ireland to the UAE to the tune of €2 billion by the year 2020.
The Dubai Airshow is a biennial event held in Dubai, UAE. It is held under the patronage of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in collaboration with Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai World Central, Dubai Airports and the Armed Forces of the UAE. Since its inception in 1989, the event has always been organized by F&E Aerospace.
The eight client companies of Enterprise Ireland including Botany weaving, Dublin Aerospace, the Atlantic Aviation Group and Aerospace software Developments were exhibiting at the Dubai Airshow, one of the biggest aviation trade shows in the world.
Among the new deals announced at the Dubai Airshow was that of the Dublin based world leading manufacturer of aviation fabrics and carpets Botany Weaving. The company disclosed that it had reached a multi-million dollar deal with a United Arab Emirates (UAE) airline to supply it with interior textiles.
The Irish technology company TIC-creators of the software called BizTweet that won an award from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for helping airports across the world with automated passenger communications through the use of social media announced that it had signed a contract with a major airport in the UAE to implement BizTweet.
The Dublin based aerospace and aviation software solution company, Aerospace Software Development (ASD) also inked a deal with an airline in the UAE. ASD provides software solutions to over 40 aviation companies in the world. The company sells software that enables the tracking of Emergency Equipment on aircrafts.
The Irish enterprise financial information solutions company, Miagen also announced the launch of LeaseGen, its new aviation related financial management product in the emirates.
Flightman, an Irish company that is a global leader in the provision of Connected Aircraft Solutions to airlines also disclosed that Abu Dhabi based Royal Jet had selected them as software providers for their fleet wide Electronic Flight Bag deployment.
