Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer (managing director and chief executive officer Dubai Electricity and Watre Authority-Dewa) has received Matthias Altendorf (CEO of Swiss instrumentation and automation Endress and Hauser) During Dewa’s Smart Building event which was organised in cooperation with the Swiss Business Council.
Their discussion was centered on enhancing cooperation to boost innovation, supervising the quality of water, improving network availability and safety, strategic reserves foe emergency situations, reducing operational cost and monitoring water losses.
They also talked about collaborating to provide Dewa’s staff and contractors with technical education.
Waleed Salman (Executive Vice-President for Strategy and Business Development at Dewa), Marwan Bin Haider (Executive Vice-President of Innovation and the Future at Dewa) and both David Hewitt (Sales Director at Endress and Hauser) and Jens Winkelmann (Managing Director) were present during the discussion.

“In terms of benchmarking, Dewa’s competitive results have surpassed private companies by increasing the efficiency of energy production, using the latest technologies, and adopting innovative technologies. Dewa has surpassed leading European and American companies by reducing losses in power transmission and distribution networks to 3.3 per cent, compared to 6-7 per cent in Europe and the USA. Water network losses decreased to 8.2 per cent, compared to 15 per cent in North America, achieving global results in reducing water losses” said Al Tayer.
