It has just been announced that Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of UAE as well as the Vice President issued Decree No.27. Thus, forming the board of the Emirates Global Center for Accreditation.
This decree will be published in the Official Gazette and is effective from the date of issuance.
In 2015, Shaikh Mohammad issued law No 27 which entailed The Emirates Global Center for Accreditation. This center was put in place to improve Dubai’s leading position as the global capital of Islamic economy and this can only be done by gaining recognition from other global organizations. The center also provides approval for entities responsible for accreditation.
According to the decree, “The Director General of Dubai Municipality chairs the board while Hussain Salem Al Katheeri will serve as Deputy Chairman. The Board is comprised of Dr Majid Sultan Al Qasimi, Dr Ahmad Ebrahim Bin Kalban, Engineer Ali Abdullah Al Haj, Engineer Saeed Mohammad Al Awadi, Abdullah Mohammad Al Awar and Atiq Juma Faraj in addition to the CEO of the Emirates Global Centre for Accreditation. The board serves for a three-year term, which is renewable”.
