Here’s what the Holy Qur’an says about Mercy…

Islam is fundamentally about humanity, brotherhood and mercy  so it only makes sense that there are verses totally based on it, keep reading to find out what those verses are…

They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance (Surah Al-Baqara, 157)

And your Allah is One Allah. There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Baqara, 163)

He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Baqara, 173)

O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman.But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord (Surah Al-Baqara, 178)

But if anyone fears partiality or wrong-doing on the part of the testator, and makes peace between (The parties concerned), there is no wrong in him: For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Baqara, 182)

But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Baqara, 192)

And obey Allah and the Messenger. That ye may obtain mercy. (Surah Al-Imran, 132)

If any one does evil or wrongs his own soul but afterwards seeks Allah’s forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah An-Nisa’, 110)

When they repented, and saw that they had erred, they said: “If our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall indeed be of those who perish.” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 149)

Moses prayed: “O my Lord! forgive me and my brother! admit us to Thy mercy! for Thou art the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 151)

But some of the desert Arabs believe in Allah and the Last Day, and look on their payments as pious gifts bringing them nearer to Allah and obtaining the prayers of the Messenger. Aye, indeed they bring them nearer (to Him): soon will Allah admit them to His Mercy: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah At-Tawba, 99)

Noah said: “O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge.And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!” (Surah Hud, 47)

And they carry your heavy loads to lands that ye could not (otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lord is indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful, (Surah An-Nahl, 7)

Or that He may not call them to account by a process of slow wastage – for thy Lord is indeed full of kindness and mercy. (Surah An-Nahl, 47)

But verily thy Lord,- to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions,- and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah An-Nahl, 110)

“Nor do I absolve my own self (of blame): the (human) soul is certainly prone to evil, unless my Lord do bestow His Mercy: but surely my Lord is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah Yusuf, 53)

He said: “This day let no reproach be (cast) on you: Allah will forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy! (Surah Yusuf, 92)
