How Do You Define Success? Here’s How Allah (SWT) Defines It!

Most people, Muslim or not, when asked to define success would say ‘the attainment of wealth’ or something along those lines. To know how Allah (SWT) defines success, and what he says regarding it, read on…

#1.O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah.that ye may (really) prosper. (Surah Al-Imran, 130)

 

#2.O ye who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah.that ye may prosper (Surah Al-Imran, 200)

 

#3.They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. (Surah Al-Baqara, 5)

 

#4.They ask thee concerning the New Moons.Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage.It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It is virtue if ye fear Allah.Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear Allah.That ye may prosper. (Surah Al-Baqara, 189)

 

#5.Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity. (Surah Al-Imran, 104)

 

#6.(These are) the ones who wait and watch about you: if ye do gain a victory from Allah, they say: “Were we not with you?”- but if the unbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): “Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?” but Allah will judge betwixt you on the Day of Judgment.And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers. (Surah An-Nisa’, 141)

 

#7.O ye who believe! Do your duty to Allah, seek the means of approach unto Him, and strive with might and main in his cause: that ye may prosper. (Surah Al-Ma’ida, 35)

 

#8.O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan’s handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper. (Surah Al-Ma’ida, 90)

 

#9.Say: “Not equal are things that are bad and things that are good, even though the abundance of the bad may dazzle thee; so fear Allah, O ye that understand; that (so) ye may prosper.” (Surah Al-Ma’ida, 100)

 

#10.Who doth more wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or rejecteth His sings? But verily the wrong-doers never shall prosper. (Surah Al-An‘am, 21)

 

#11.Say: “O my people! Do whatever ye can: I will do (my part): soon will ye know who it is whose end will be (best) in the Hereafter: certain it is that the wrong- doers will not prosper.” (Surah Al-An‘am, 135)

 

#12.The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: (Surah Al-A‘raf, 8)

 

#13.”Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord through a man of your own people, to warn you? call in remembrance that He made you inheritors after the people of Noah, and gave you a stature tall among the nations.Call in remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah.that so ye may prosper.” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 69)
