The prophet Muhammad ﷺ holds a very important and pivotal position in Islam and of cause in the hearts and lives of all Muslims till the day of judgement. He is the chosen one, chosen by Allah for all mankind. He is the only man deemed perfect considering the quote “no man is perfect.” He is the most humble, despite the power, status and love he received amongst his peers and people. He is the seal of the prophet hood, the last one ever to deliver the words of Allah to mankind.
Muhammad ﷺ fought for Islam day and night during his lifetime. He did not only sincerely live for Islam as a believer but also as its chief patron. Despite the many assaults, hardships and difficulties he faced whilst protecting his deen (religion) Muhammad ﷺ still stood up for Islam in an impossibly unimaginable way. He stood for the religion with the perfect way he led his life- meant to be an example of how a sincere Muslim should live his/her life. He also demonstrated how beautiful Islam is through his actions.
Long before there was any hope for the rise and success of Islam, there was an era in Islam that was filled with torture, suffering and persecution of Muhammad ﷺ and his followers. In order to silence him and by extension the Divine message with which he came, our beloved Prophet ﷺ received an offer from one of the pagan leaders called Otba at that time saying “if you want money, we will collect enough money for you so that you will be the richest one of us. If you want leadership, we will take you as our leader and never decide on any matter without your approval. If you want a kingdom we will crown you king over us…”
Any human being bent on worldly pursuits wouldn’t have thought twice on pursuing such an offer due to its immense temptations. But our beloved Muhammad simply responded with a verse from the Quran:
“[This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful – A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur’an for a people who know, As a giver of good tidings and a Warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear.” (Quran, 41:2-4).
In another instance his response to his uncle who demanded and pleaded for him to stop preaching was “I swear by the name of Allah, o uncle!, that if they place the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left-hand in return for standing up for Islam and calling people to Islam, I will never desist until either Allah makes it triumph or I perish defending it”.
This is Muhammad ﷺ our humble Prophet who sincerely believed in Allah without any doubts, held Islam dear to his life and fought and stood up for his Ummah (Muslims) till his last breath. We ask Allah to unite us with our beloved Prophet ﷺ and his companions in Jannah. Amen!
