It has just been announced by Majid Al Futtaim that it plans on building its new mall and the mall will be located in the heart of Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
The mall (which is worth Dh300 million) would be named “My City Centre Masdar” and would likely be the world’s most sustainable urban developments. It would also have an easy access to adjacent developments and connectivity to planned smart transport options, which includes light rail trasit lies, metro network as well as buses.
This mall is set to open by the ending of 2018 and is expected to deliver a convenient neighbourhood retail experience. It is also expected to meet the daily shopping targets for an estimated number of more than 75,000 consumers living around the area or visiting.
The attractions of the mall would include 60 outlets across 18,000 sq metres of gross leasable area and a Magic Planet entertainment centre. It would also have a 5,760 square metre Carrefour hypermarket, a City Centre clinic to provide community health care services as well as a convenient dining options for professionals ad residents of Masdar City.
It is estimated that by 2030, there will be an increment in the number of residents and workers in Masdar City of about 40,000 ad 50,000 respectively. In line with this, around 35% of the city’s planned built-up area will be completed within the next 5 years. 30% of the projects would include private homes, hotels, offices and schools.
