At the inaugural Arabian Business Real Estate Awards, Damac’s Hussain Sajwani was honored with the ‘Real Estate Legend’.
An overall of 21 awards were handed out at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Ritz Carlton in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The editor of Arabian Business magazine, Eddie Taylor, in welcoming the large attendance on the night said that the real estate remains one of the most important industries in Dubai.
Taylor said that 69,000 real estate transactions took place last year alone, with an overall value of AED285 billion, equivalent to $77 billion, more than the Gross Domestic Product of 150 countries in the world.
The editor also said that the night was to celebrate an industry that is perhaps more than any other embodies the United Arab Emirates.
Taylor went on saying it is a sector that made the vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan real, whose anniversary they marked this yea. He went on saying the founding father of the UAE anticipated a modern, open, dynamic and prosperous nation based on innovation and opportunity, education and enterprise.
He added that under the founding father and his successors’ leadership, it is the people at the event that has helped make that happen.

Sajwani said that the belief placed on other people’s abilities and the success they bring day in day out is as important as having a strong work ethic.
He said that the people who work with him bring the best of themselves to work, and through that, they build the tremendous work environment that is essential for success.
He added that the award was in recognition for all the employees of Damac who have helped them become one of the most successful and most recognized real estate companies in the world.
