Hastening Towards Spending on Righteousness

Continuing on our Qu’ranic selection, for this piece we want to focus on spending righteously in the way of Allah Azawajala. We hope after reading these Qu’ranic excerpts, you will reach deeper in into your wallet and spend in the cause of Allaah.

Not those who spend of their substance, to be seen of men, but have no faith in Allah and the Last Day: If any take the Evil One for their intimate, what a dreadful intimate he is! (Surah An-Nisa’, 38)

O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of all wants, and worthy of all praise. (Surah Al-Baqara, 267)

And whatever ye spend in charity or devotion, be sure Allah knows it all. But the wrong-doers have no helpers. (Surah Al-Baqara, 270)

It is not required of thee (O Messenger., to set them on the right path, but Allah sets on the right path whom He pleaseth. Whatever of good ye give benefits your own souls, and ye shall only do so seeking the “Face” of Allah (Surah Al-Baqara, 272)

(Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allahs cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured Allah knoweth it well. (Surah Al-Baqara, 273)

Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Surah Al-Baqara, 274)

Those who show patience, Firmness and self-control; who are true (in word and deed); who worship devoutly; who spend (in the way of Allah; and who pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning. (Surah Al-Imran, 17)

By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well. (Surah Al-Imran, 92)

Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men;- for Allah loves those who do good;- (Surah Al-Imran, 134)

(Nor) those who are niggardly or enjoin niggardliness on others, or hide the bounties which Allah hath bestowed on them; for We have prepared, for those who resist Faith, a punishment that steeps them in contempt;- (Surah An-Nisa’, 37)
