The following are some points to help both parents and their children memorize the noble Qur’an, so as for this honorable act to provide continuous benefits to them forever.
#1.Recite the following Du’a with your kids every time before commencing the process of memorizing the noble Qur’an (Chapter 20:114)
“Rabi Zidni Ilman”
“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
#2.Start teaching your children to memorize the Qur’an when they are very young. It is said that what is learnt in the early years is never forgotten
#3.Memorize the Qur’an with sincerity. You should observe your children and see what is there to motivate them to memorize the Noble Qur’an and try to motivate them accordingly. You could even give them gifts to encourage them.
#4.Do not under-estimate the power of prayer
#5.Eat halal and pure food with your children, as this is effective in preparing the mind and memory
#6.Have resolution, perseverance, hope and aspiration
#7.Have a precise time-table to memorize the Noble Qur’an with your children. If you don’t have a timetable, it will be a lengthy and difficult process, especially for your children. You should specify a certain time every day, a certain period of time, and a certain amount to memorize, for example the number of pages to memorize per day.
#8.Use a simplified text that is easy to read and has a clear script
#9.Make sure to observe your children when reciting the noble Qur’an so as to correct their every mistake
#10.Make your children repeat everything they have learnt regularly. Make sure they do not move to the next verse or Surat unless the previous one has been perfected
#11.Make sure your kids are in Wudhu when memorizing the Noble Qur’an, and let them face the Qibla
#12.Find a suitable time and place for your kids to recite the noble Qur’an
#13.Encourage your kids to participate in competitions and programs that has to do with the memorization of the Noble Qur’an
#14.Memorize each verse and Surat once at a time
#15.Trust in the power of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’alla)
