Traits of Happy Muslim Couples

In Islam, marital relationship is an incredible blessing from Allah (SwT); it is a lot more than having someone to call husband or wife.

It is stated by our creator Allah SwT in the Qur’an:

“..He made for you from yourselves companions that you may find serenity in them, and He placed between you love and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for people who give thought.” (Ar-Rum 30:21)

One of the main goals of marriage in Islam is to find tranquility in and with your spouse.

Below are some of the habits of Muslim spouses who find this tranquility in their marriage:

#1.Love for Allah’s sake

To love each other for the sake of Almighty Allah is to make the love and obedience of Allah SwT the center and focus of your marital relationship. Love each other purely because of how much you remind each other of Allah SwT and help one another get close to Him.

Such couples also love each other so much so that they desire for their love to last beyond this lifetime and into the Hereafter, and live in everlasting happiness with each another, having earned the pleasure of Allah. Happy Muslim couples also spend time together to read the Noble Qur’an and to do regular acts of kindness and charity, as well as maintain loving and happy ties with each other’s families.

Secondly, happy Muslim couples are always grateful for each other. The need to feel relevant and appreciated is a fundamental need that exists in every relationship. Happy Muslim couples are thankful to each other and thankful to Allah SwT.

  • Happy Muslim couples do not lose focus of each other’s primary needs.
  • They also talk to each other like best friends.
  • They always make time for each other.
  • They also fight their ego, evil eyes, as well as shaytan.
  • They sense each other’s stress and share each other’s burden emotionally.
  • In case there is a conflict, they are conscious of their creator Allah (SwT).

There is no relationship where no conflict or disagreement occurs of some sort. The way in which we manage our disagreements is what distinguishes the health of the two different relationships.

Our Noble Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:

“I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is right..”

May Allah SwT instill tranquility, love and tolerance in all Muslim Marriages.
