The Food Bank in a joint initiative with the Community Development Authority (CDA) will provide about 500 meals to workers on a daily basis.

However, officials said the plan is to distribute free meals to at least 2,000 workers every day. The bank received offers for 1,800 meals daily for the beginning of Ramadan while the number is expected to increase as more donors are expected to join in this good deed.
Meanwhile, awareness and education program for various groups across society will be organized to raise awareness on the importance of reducing the waste of food. This announcement was made after the Food Bank’s recent board meeting held under the chairmanship of Dawood Al Hajiri, Director-General of Dubai Municipality and vice-chairman of the Board, as per the directives of Shaikha Hind Bint Juma Al Maktoum, chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank.
